Welcome to De Nada Cantina, a vibrant taco restaurant nestled in the heart of Austin at 4715 E Cesar Chavez St. If you’re in search of a culinary adventure that dances on the palate and warms the spirit, this lively eatery is your destination!

De Nada Cantina proudly serves up an authentic Mexican cuisine with a modern twist, showcasing a variety of tantalizing tacos that highlight the rich flavors of the region. Each bite transports you straight to the streets of Mexico City, where street food meets artistry. Indulge in their Barbacoa Taco, featuring succulent braised beef cheek paired with zesty salsa habanero, pickled onion, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro for just $5.00. Or savor the rich flavor of the Carnitas Taco, slow-braised pork enhanced with a unique peanut matcha salsa verde, presented at a wallet-friendly $4.25.

If seafood is more to your taste, the Pescado ala Plancha Tacos won’t disappoint. This dish showcases seared Gulf fish, complemented by a vibrant chipotle mayonesa and refreshing pickled pineapple—perfectly bright on a hot Austin day for only $7.50. And for those seeking vegetarian options, the Verduras Taco, filled with a hearty mushroom picadillo and smoked black beans, offers a delightful taste without sacrificing flavor.

Pair these amazing tacos with one of De Nada’s delectable margaritas. The "El Chignon" is a must-try, boasting El Tesoro Silver Tequila and Mathilda XO for a mere $13.00. The frozen margaritas are a hit as well, with flavors that change with the season—each sip refreshes and delights!

The atmosphere at De Nada Cantina is as vibrant as its flavors. With an eclectic décor adorned by local art that encapsulates the spirit of Austin, the restaurant features ample outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying a meal under the Texas sun. Be prepared, though; this spot gets busy, especially during peak hours. Many guests have highlighted the friendly and attentive service, making each visit feel special. For instance, a customer named Lesley praised their server Jordyn for her authentic recommendations that truly enhanced the dining experience.

Reviews from patrons reveal a pattern of happiness and satisfaction. One visitor, Sanjay, described his experience as “worth the hype,” highlighting the restaurant’s competitive edge in Austin’s bustling taco market and its commitment to quality and authenticity. Another guest, Emilie, declared De Nada’s barbacoa tacos as the best she’s ever had, promising to return just to relive that flavorful moment.

However, as with any vibrant place, there are moments that can be improved upon. A review by customer Karla pointed out some service issues during a busy evening, but it’s clear that the overall positive experiences outweigh the negatives, showcasing De Nada's commitment to the community and their guests.

With its welcoming ambiance, delightful menu, and a strong community vibe, De Nada Cantina stands out as a must-visit for taco lovers in Austin. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to indulge in the culinary delights that await you here!

I came here after I saw somebody talk about it on tiktok and it was definitely worth the hype staff was amazing especially for a newer venue which has only been open for 4 years. The Austin tacos are very competitive market and de nada has found a way to make it even more competitive with Mexico City themed restaurant and lots of art all over the wall.

What a nice surprise this place was! We ordered the queso (one of the best I’ve had!), watermelon ceviche (I can never have regular salsa ever again!) pescado taco (loved how light it was!), black bean and cheese quesadilla (awesome recommendation ) and my husband had the barbacoa taco (he inhaled it!)… Edgar, our server, was amazing! He was so fun and super attentive!

Best barbacoa tacos ever w/ blue corn tortilla shells. Delicious house margs. So yummy. Would literally come back to Austin just to have these tacos again. Good job De Nada. Also nice vibes. Very happy.

This place is visually interesting lots of outdoor covered seating. Packed on a Wednesday evening 530. The food was all really good and we enjoyed a mixture of 3 salsa, queso, guacamole and chips and the salsa be careful they increase in spicy! But loved them all! 2 margaritas frozen a mango and a strawberry was perfect on this 103 degrees May day! We also tried the burria deep fried cheesy quesadilla with some sort of sauce and they melted in your mouth! Visually you are like wait what is that? But definitely a true real Mexico quesadilla. If we hadn't drove definitely would of tried more Margaritas but I drank half of a small and gave rest to the one not driving! Place was hopping, food and drink was amazing prices are very reasonable!

The minute we landed in Austin I began searching for the best taco I could find. Being a review person, I found some spots that had so-so feedback and nothing really caught my attention. Well thats when I came across De Nada. "You are Welcome" was this an arrogant preemptive display of we know you'll be thanking us when its over or was this a simple warm greeting? Turns out it was both. As we pulled up the parking was a bit tricky but seeing the active parking lot and copious amount of people in and around the building, we knew we had stumbled upon exactly what we were looking for. We didn't have a reservation (definitely make one if you plan to stop in) and got lucky enough to slide in on the last available table inside. Our server was pleasant and present which made my party of 4 feel welcomed right away. We had chips and sauces for an appetizer and a variety of tacos to boot. Paired with some delicious but expensive drinks and this was everything we had hoped it would be. I would suggest making a reservation and limiting the drinks if you are on a budget but make this one a must try.

The host service could have been better for our first time there. She was on the phone and didn’t acknowledge us. No one was answering her, so a quick “please give me a moment” would have been appreciated. They sat us by the bar which I wouldn’t recommend since an employee spilled a whole iced drink on me and did not apologize until I got up. Also, while we were trying to enjoy the meal, they were reprimanding an employee right behind me, which to each their own but please take it to the kitchen. Maybe y’all were just having a bad Tuesday, but regardless, I hope y’all take this as feedback because despite all the place itself is great. Our server was amazing, he was an angel. The food was also great, highly recommend their quesadillas. Their drinks are STRONG, so expect them to taste like a strong drink, but get it nonetheless.
